Tuna Party Puzzles: Not your everyday RSVP card

Just as the Wallace Church Tuna Party is an annual event, so is the challenge to create an innovative concept for the invitations. Each year Stan and our design team sit down to solve the puzzle of designing the invite, creating unique, fun and often award-winning invitations for our guests – many of whom have attended previous Tuna Parties and know to expect much more than your average cardstock.

This year, the puzzle and its solution were one and the same: a puzzle invite. We designed a puzzle of a tuna, of course, and included on it the details of the event. The puzzles were then packed into tins and sent out to our guests. The result was a fun challenge for invitees. In a world of instant information, the puzzle concept forces invitees to assemble the message themselves, creating a level of intrigue surrounding the event. Plus, when it comes down to it, puzzles are more fun than checking a “yes” or “no” box on a response card. Don’t believe us? Try giving a child an invitation as a gift and see if you get invited to their next birthday party.

We hope you have as much fun playing with this year’s invites as we have creating them. We’re passing the puzzles around our office as desk toys and we encourage you to do the same!
